The Metatini

Our quintessential Meta Hour cocktail.

The Metatini is a crisp fresh gin based cocktail that is served with an onion as well as olives and is touched by a rinse of dry Vermouth.

This is the drink that started it all. Coming soon as our featured podcast cocktail, we’re kicking off the drinks with the Metatini. Gin, vermouth, ice, and stir. That’s all you need.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 oz of Gin – Looking to try something new? Sipsmith London Dry Gin
  • 1/4 oz Vermouth – There are a lot of vermouths, but you can’t go wrong with Martini & Rossi Extra Dry
  • Martini olives – Spanish green pimento stuffed
  • Cocktail onion

Preparation:

Fill a martini glass with ice. Pour the 1/4 of Vermouth into a cocktail glass or shaker. Swirl the vermouth and then discard. Add cracked ice to the glass or shaker and then the 2 1/2 oz of gin. With a long spoon stir the gin and ice for at least 15 seconds. The key is the drop the temperature of the cocktail below freezing while also slightly diluting the drink with water from the ice. Do not shake.

Discard the ice in the martini glass and strain the drink. Add two olives and one cocktail onion.

By using a juniper forward gin, it will stand up to the combined olive and onion mix. Works best while sitting in a 1960s bar during your lunch hour in the Metaverse.

The original Metatini NFT is available for sale on OpenSea Marketplace. Be a part of the Meta Hour by owning a piece of Metaverse history.
